POETRY IN BLACK AND WHITE 16

post thumbnail
Benoit Courti is a French artist currently based in Paris, as well as a reputed up-and-coming master of monochrome, or black-and-white photography. When well done, black & white photos can be all the more evocative and poetic than those in vivid color. Courti certainly knows what he’s doing, as he plays with contrast, light and shadows in his images. His portraits are immensely expressive, while his Deep Black series reveals a world of details and small creatures that can often pass as banal and mundane, yet are incredibly impressive when seen by a skilled eye. Courti initially started out as a music composer, yet turned to portraiture and fine art photography in 2010. You can purchase most of his photographs as prints online.
